| Who is Greg Bronson?
I was born in Pasadena, California, into a good Catholic family. I was the youngest, with 3 older brothers and 3 older sisters. The closest sibling to me, was my sister Tricia, who was 9 years older than I was. I was born at a whopping 9 lbs. 6 oz. to a mother that was 45. Despite her old age, I was perfectly fine. When I was 3 months old, I was baptized by Fr. Donahue, thereby becoming a Christian and a member of the Body of Christ. This would begin a life-long friendship between God and I. As I grew through my earlier years, I was loved and pampered by my whole family. My birth came as quite a surprise to everyone, and I was therefore an exciting "new toy" to be love and cuddled. Some of my earliest memories of childhood was my love for the Smurfs, our swimming pool with the slide that I was deathly afraid of and of the family night swims with the cockroaches, and my little cannibal fish that one day ate each other. I also fondly remember The Bahooka, a nearby restaurant that served firey punch and had aquariums all over, and Farrols, a clown/circus like ice cream parlor. I also remember going with my Mom to McDonalds and having to decide between a Happy Meal or a McRib. My Mom and I also always went to Pic-N-Save, where I could always get one cheap toy as long it wasn't made in China. These are just some of the fond memories I have of my early years prior to 6. When I was just about to turn six, my family moved from Rosemead, where I had lived since birth, up to Atascadero, on the beautiful Central Coast of California. It was a town with about 18,000 people, and a much safer place to raise a family (unlike the greater Los Angeles Area). That summer we rented a house until my family found the house that I still live in today. It was a 2000 sq. foot house on a acre and a half. We managed to cram all 8 of us (my older sister had decided to stay down in Southern California when we moved), into the house. That fall (I was 6) my sister began to homeschool me. However, after she soon found a man (her husband now) who she would spend alot of time with. My parents decided to send me to a regular school. They didn't wasn't me to be corrupted by the public school system, so those chose to send me to North Country Christian School, right there in Atascadero. Kicking, screaming, and crying, I reluctantly began Kindergarten in the middle of the school year. I soon got used to it, and its a good thing, because I would spend the next 12.5 years of my life at NCCS. Over those 12 or so years, I would live a fairly typical life. In a way I disliked school, and I certainly hated homework, but I knew I was go through it. I learned to read and write, learned math, science, history and all that good stuff. I participated in speech meets, won at science fairs, and went through puberty. I did well in school. I only got 1 "C" grade throughout my career and only a handful of "B"s. I got my drivers' license, played football, and worked as a Janitor at my school for 2 years. I managed to make the transition from an child to an adult fairly smoothly, although I still enjoy a good cartoon now and then, and firmly agree with what the Toys R Us people say, "I don't want to grow up, I'm a Toys R Us Kid." As I grew up, I watched sibling after sibling leave our home, so by the time I was in high school, I had the house to myself and was almost like an only child. As a Senior in high school I was faced with the dilemma of leaving the only school I had ever known, and decided where I wanted to go to college. Since this had me thoroughly confused I, decided to just live at home and go to the local State University where my Father had graduated some 30 years earlier. After almost being kicked out of Cal Poly because I was doing poorly, I changed majors from Computer Science to Agriculture Business, where surprisingly I have done very well and have been enjoying college. Currently I am a first year senior, and plan on graduating in 2002. And there you have a brief history of my life. Return to Greg Bronson's Niche in Cyberspace. Or better yet--Email Me!! |
